La televisión por satélite continúa creciendo en Alemania y consolidándose como la opción preferente de sus ciudadanos a la hora de recibir señal televisiva. Esos son los datos que se desprenden del informe Astra TV Monitor 2012, realizado por el operador de satélites SES en base a 6.000 entrevistas.
Las autoridades alemanas de medios de comunicación han expresado su apoyo a la transición de las transmisiones digitales de televisión terrestre bajo el estándar DVB-T2, con el argumento de que la nueva norma ofrece una serie de ventajas.
